Through an innovated joint effort, the Cambridge Bobcat Boys Basketball and Football Teams enjoyed a combined camp this week with the largest attendance on record for both programs. Well over 100 participants were able to learn skills from both sports, interact with varsity student-athletes and receive individualized instruction from head coaches Andy Slaughter and Josh Lowery.
Campers were able to select participation in one or both sessions, with a lunch option and free t-shirt. To accommodate both sports, groups were divided up by age (1st-4th grade and 5th-8th grade) and morning/afternoon sessions. The three day camp offered basic skills for each sport along with emphasizing the value in playing multiple sports at the high school level. The success of this week’s camp is a tremendous example of the commitment to community highlighted by the mission of Cambridge Athletics.
