After overcoming some travel challenges on the way, the Cambridge Swim Team had to try and push for District times at the Sectional meet at Steubenville High School on Saturday. The team made it to the meet just in time to get a quick warmup in and swim the first event with the Girls 200 Medley Relay team swimming within 30 minutes of getting off the bus. Even through all of this, the team pulled it together to have a strong showing. There were many personal records broken by the young team as the regular season comes to an end. The team is awaiting the release on Sunday morning to find out who has qualified for Districts at Ohio State on Wednesday.
Alex Shockley placed 11th in the 50 Freestyle for 6 points with a time of 24.93.
Antonio Lopez placed 16th in the 100 Backstroke for 1 point with a time of 1:11.91.
Boys 200 Medley Relay placed 10th for 14 points with a time of 2:04.14 (Antonio Lopez, AJ Goodman, Noe Lopez, Alex Shockley)
Boys 200 Freestyle Relay placed 9th for 18 points with a time of 1:46.01 (Xander Caldwell, AJ Goodman, Antonio Lopez, Alex Shockley)
Boys 400 Freestyle Relay placed 8th for 22 points with a time of 3:58.54 (Antonio Lopez, Noe Lopez, Xander Caldwell, Alex Shockley)
Girls 200 Medley Relay placed 11th for 12 points with a time of 2:17.55 (Sydney Mercer, Zoey Cahoon, Ava Byerly, Sophia Harper).
Girls 200 Freestyle Relay placed 16th for 2 points with a time of 2:03.95 (Sydney Mercer, Sophia Harper, Zoey Cahoon, Ava Byerly)
Girls 400 Freestyle Relay placed 14th for 6 points with a time of 4:41.60 (Sydney Mercer, Sophia Harper, Zoey Cahoon, Ava Byerly)
